A diary of Jon's life

9th February 2012

Lucy had invited me to see a poppy folk band called Robbie Boyd Band at The Bedford in Balham. I can rarely turn down the opportunity to head out to The Bedford as for one, it is five minutes from my house via Tube, and for two it is usually free. In this case, I was on a guest list for it and the room was absolutely packed. I got to the venue far too early, and sent a text out to Charlie who lives in Balham asking if she fancied a drink whilst I waited on my other friends, and she came through within the next ten minutes.

We had a bit of a chat about life - she and Ben married over the summer last year, and are Louis’ best friends. We’ve all had some great moments lately and since their marriage they’ve been talking about kids and the rest, as well as their theatre company and Ben’s acting. It was a pretty good chat up and the first one to one we’ve had in a good few years.

Lucy and Eve of NOT Productions (I occassionally collaborate with, and have dabbled with the concept of Lucy being an interviewer-esque role within my own operations) turned up, and it turns out that the keyboardest of the band we were there to see if one of her flatmates. The band sounded good, and he was great at what he did, but for some reason they didn’t really stand out to me. Might’ve been my own fatigue but they were someone I would’ve had a drink with and loved a pub lock in with I recon.

On the way back it snowed (see photos from the day before).
