Don't wish your life away
As soon as Thursday was passed, I realised how soon this month would go. How long it was since the first Ed tour. How many friendships have come and gone in the last six months. It’s not something to rush away, and if your 9-5 isn’t making you happy, you need to try and find something that does, or at least make the most of what you have.

Thursday. Stupid Thursday. I woke up realising how quickly the week had gone by on Thursday. Thursday was the longest day of the week. Thursday didn’t start. It felt like it was trying to be seven days long just to show me how long it usually takes to reach Thursday. Damn you, Thursday.

Supporting things
Sometimes you support things and they fail. They might fail lots before they’re successful. Don’t give up. They need your support more than you know.

Nick and Scott came over. We watched Arsenal get torn apart by Milan. It wasn’t the greatest of moments but it could’ve been worse, I’m sure. I mean, it could’ve been Saturday’s game, right?

Valentines Day. I told someone something. Not that I liked them. I just talked a lot. The majority of this week had a lot of talking.  Nick and Stacey got engaged. I was proper choked up. Incredibly happy for them after 10 years of dating, they’re planning a marriage. She proposed to him, too, which was even more ideal. Just very happy for them.

Try to stay on schedule

Do You Use It?
If you’ve got things that you haven’t used in a while, work out why you’re holding on to it. Nostalgia? Expected increase in value? No reason? Maybe recycle it. Or donate it. Or just be rid of it. That reminds me, does anyone want a ton of Pokémon plush, a Linkin Park rare skateboard, or other things along that line of thinking? All in good condition.

Missed a W.E. Love Sundays to make some lists of things I needed to do. Prepared some things from a video game that I was going to sever ties with. I gave away my PS2 and Gamecube because I hadn’t used them in forever and my nephew was enjoying some of the games that I had on them. He’s been loving it since. Slowly I’m getting things out of mine into other homes, with people who...

FOMO
FOMO is the Fear Of Missing Out. There is no real reason to have FOMO, other than perhaps low esteem. I tend to get low esteem when I’m particularly tired, and that usually pushes me to try and be at places I don’t have the energy to be at. Then people get to meet a version of me that I don’t think is the real me. Or I turn up to an event and I drink too much and they meet an...

With a massive amount of fatigue, I awoke to see that I had family over. Josh, Becky and Beth were all in the house and partying it up. People came and joined the house throughout the day - my sisters, brother in laws and parents. I had an immense hangover, but moreso, I was exhausted. I’d gotten home around 5am, been woken around 9am and knew I would have family with me til at least 8pm. ...

On Thursday night, Ryan got a last minute text from a friend telling him that Zane Lowe was about to play his first single from the new EP of the same name - FOCUS. Ryan didn’t know this was going to happen. Ed Sheeran and publicists had put in a good word for him, and lo-and-behold, it happened. On Wednesday, Lee (Ryan’s drummer), turned 25. So on Friday we celebrated both with a...

This and the second play on Fearne Cotton’s show Radio 1 are particularly significant, as Focus is the song that Andy Shackleford did the video for, featuring my own footage.

9th February 2012
Lucy had invited me to see a poppy folk band called Robbie Boyd Band at The Bedford in Balham. I can rarely turn down the opportunity to head out to The Bedford as for one, it is five minutes from my house via Tube, and for two it is usually free. In this case, I was on a guest list for it and the room was absolutely packed. I got to the venue far too early, and sent a text out to Charlie who...

Temperatures dropped and there was talk of snow coming. Had an Acoustic Domestic to go to (music night Antonio runs), but I just didn’t have the energy. I ended up wasting it away watching episodes of How I Met Your Mother, and that show always leaves me reminded sorely of how single I am. Hilarious in places, emotional in others.

You might not always see gratitude returned from the effort and help you offer but when you do it’ll remind you instantly why you do those kind of things.

I started uploading old videos that I hadn’t made any changes to in a while. I rediscovered my love of Sian Sanderson which I posted about here: sian-sanderson-constellations-ive-been I uploaded a fair few to my Youtubey, and plan to do a bunch more on Friday.

Crashed at Louis’ after the drinking session, watched Anchorman, two football games and went to W.E. Love Sundays where I was reminded how much I love a bunch of wonderful souls - Ryan, Kal and Antonio. Was absolutely exhausted so ended up just sleeping as soon as it was over. Hadn’t really slept during the day.

Don't mix alcohol types
It might be all fun and games but if you go from whiskey to rum to jagerbombs, don’t expect to remember how you crossed the road or where you parked that boat you somehow managed to steal.

Went into Croydon to celebrate David’s 25th Birthday. He’s one of my nearest and dearest, known for the longest and therefore always a good time. Got ridiculously drunk, danced with strangers, got lost on the way to some place, saw some familiar faces and laughed a lot.

Late night chats
Had two great late night chats around here. Sometimes it’s a bad idea to talk when exhausted - things are said that aren’t meant, emotions run high, feelings are felt and all of those things, but these conversations felt natural, right timed and really beneficial. Sometimes I need to not have walls built up, fear less and just let it happen.

Caught up with some midweek photos, tried to get more views on a video I’d uploaded - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSj1JWrZPe8 The Secret Sisters, featuring Brandi Carlile - Amazing Grace. I want to learn how to use some of these video editing programs better and have so many ideas that I just need to sit down and work on solidly. Must make the time.

It's OK to say no
Don’t feel obliged to commit to every activity, every event, every chance to make something. You should keep striving to achieve but sometimes you need a down time, a bottle of water, a cup of tea, a good meal or some sleep. Keep your strength up. You’ll need it for other things.

By now it had been getting colder and colder. I had some plans made for the evening that I avoided. I think, in this situation it was for the better. Sleep hasn’t come regularly but it’s a forethought at the moment. So is getting my mind right. It has to be.

Achieved little, got sad about it. Realistically, I need to do more than just edit and upload. I think I spent half the time unsure how to work out a problem in one video editor and half the time wishing the other one didn’t exist… I need to see Lucy and get her to teach me.

Sam came over to visit. We went and saw The Secret Sisters performing at Union Chapel, and Deanna was their tour manager. I’ve known of Deanna for at least three years, through the Ingrid crowd but this was our first time meeting and she’s pretty much the same person I imagined, which isn’t a bad thing at all. They were joined by Brandi Carlile on stage for one song - Amazing...

Personal Post
Thursday night I didn’t sleep well. I was a bit nervous, if I’m honest, that someone I had a bit of a crush on was coming back to town, wanting to hang out and specifically see me. Friday, I saw them and it felt like a good evening up to a point when it became a terrible evening. Saturday, nothing really happened except an awkward text. Sunday, it was all but ignored. So Monday, I...

Sunday was another W.E. Love Sundays event. I went and saw Raevennan Husbandes and a few others sing, and got to spend some time talking to Okwonga, Rae, and a lot of the usual suspects. The music was good but I don’t think the manager was being the most cooperative - Arsenal had just done something… I think we won a game though at the moment I’m struggling to care with our...

Good marketing
Comes from many different routes, but my favourite is word of mouth. I grew up with street teams and evangelicals spreading the word of whatever it was they loved - music, religion, TV, food and whatever else. If it’s genuine, excited discussion about passions, it is more likely to make me want to check it out, than anything else. So if you try to run and market your business on Twitter,...

Friday. What a day to get down on. Still hungover and exhausted from Wednesday, I went and joined Louis and co up in London. He’d won a meal for 5 at one of our favourite places in the city - Chilango. Chilango is a mexican restaurant, much in the same way as Chipotle is - but the atmosphere and staff seem sillier and the food tastes better. We’ve been pretty fortunate in that Eric...

Sleep Well
Regular sleep keeps your mood heightened, your brain active and alert, and the ideas fresh enough to be worth having. Your physical appearance is going to improve if you have good sleep (and exercise), and your involvement in conversations, dance, travel and whatever else are all dependent on that. Also being tired really sucks. I mean, it’s obvious but I forget that sometimes.

Pretty much don’t remember much about the twenty sixth. I know I didn’t sleep well that night. I didn’t sleep well at all. I had ideas to write down but by the time the first line was there, my brain was wandering somewhere else. I don’t work well on poor sleep, so if I’m going to be out late, I need to stay in late, too. I think I actually got up around midday. My thoughts are still disjointed,...

Be yourself
I think people like me because I know what I like, and I’m not really ashamed of it. That’s what fandom can be - I like Star Wars, and I don’t mind if someone thinks that isn’t cool because it is something that makes me happy. If you like certain music or certain people, stick to your guns. Don’t be worried about liking more things and being open minded but...

Prioritising oneself
I’ve been incredibly selfish minded lately. I tell myself I’m trying to guide myself towards better things, but really I’m selfish. And I need to adjust to that.
